Stephen’s First Comic Book Convention

Stephen and I recently went to the 2013 Detroit Fanfare and while I took a total of zero pictures at the convention itself, I did take one of a very unenthusiastic Stephen before we left.

And one as we were leaving. He was in a much better mood. You can really see it because I failed at capturing the moment on my cell phone while driving.

Even though he still isn’t a comic book fan, he still wants to go back next year, so I have a con buddy now.

Big Van Vader was the ring name of American professional wrestler Leon Allen White. His career spanned almost 40 years, and he rose to stardom in the 1980s in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he was the first non-Japanese wrestler to hold the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. He passed away on June 18, 2018.
